Who should not get the vaccine?
Immunocompromised patients who have leukemia, lymphoma, HIV, congenital immunodeficiency, and blood dyscrasias should not be immunized.
* Children Taking Steroids in high doses or receiving immunosuppressive therapy.
* Children receiving Radiation or chemotherapy.
* Pregnant Women
o Pregnancy should be avoided for one month after receiving the vaccine.
* Allergy to eggs or allergic reaction to neomycin (consult with your physician)
* A child with an illness more serious than a cold may need to postpone receiving the vaccine.
* A child who received a gamma globulin shot during the past three months may need to postpone the vaccine also.
