I thought that for Mild Hypernatremia we use .45 NS, also in kaplan notes i see 2 diff things for hypovolemic hponatremia, one says 3% NS, other says 0.9 NS
what is the right answer guys?

for mild hyponatremia, start with N.S than switch to 1/2 N.S
for hypovlemic hyponatremia, we use 3% saline only when it is severe hyponatremia to the point where pt has s/s confusion, stupor, seizure. if asymptomatic than only use N.S. please correct me if i m wrong. |
