q2 - wwjd
#11
C. I think wwjd is right. In a case of anemia, because the circulatory blood volume is decreased, there is a compensatory vaso constriction and this increases the peripheral resistance. I remembered, I had the same question.

I am sorry happiedoc. I can not agree with you. In pure anemia only HEMOGLOBIN is decreased not the VOLUME of any space. So, no question of reflex vasoconstriction. No baroreceptor thing here, further there is no action of peripheral chemo O2 receptors in anemia. then there should not be any reflex vasoconstriction.

Guys, this question tests our basic physiology man!!

in anemia u have DECREASED blood viscosity and DECREASED peripheral resistance , u have tissue hypoxia !

sorry or the mispresentation. Anemia is not a volume issue, it is that of hemoglobin. I agree entirely..still happy
