*First of all, peripheral vascular resistance is maintained by alpha recep present on peripheral vessels, these recep coupled with Gq and contraction of smooth muscle leads to constiction by catecholamines.(thats how alpha antagonism causes dec bp)

Now the diastolic bp depends on that peripheral resistance.

*Secondly B2 recep are present on vessels like skeletal muscles, these receptor stimulation causes vasodilation through Gi, which r not main determinant of bp.(B2 antagonism wont cause fall in bpSmile

*Systolic bp depemds on heart contrcatility,as bergkamp is telling, this is maintained by B1 and blocakge wil lead to dec contractility and dec bp.

*B1 recep are also present on juxtaglomerular app and thus dec renin by B blocker.

*Reduction in cardiac output (due to negative chronotropic and inotropic effects), reduction in renin release from the kidneys, and a central nervous system effect to reduce sympathetic activity=dec bp by B blockers.
