-extra hemolysis: phagocytosis: RBC coated by IgG w or w/out C3b, orabnormal shape RBC, increase in serum unconjugated bilirubin, increase LDH -intra hemolysis: enzyme deficiency G6PD, complement destruction, mechanical damage haptoglobin: acute phase reactant that combine w Hb to form a complex that is phagocytosed and degraded by macrophage causing a degreee in serum haptoglobin/Hb in the complex is so small unconjugated bili is not significantly increased disease cause : abnormal Hb, enzyme deficiency, membran defect, stenosis aortic valse, immune destruction |
