Don't believe it. On scramble day those spots evaporate like a stack of $20 bills in a strip club. You do NOT want to try and scramble for anything. There are so many unmatched people in the scramble its ridiculous. Ask any department head what the scramble is like. They literally turn off their fax machines for days after.

There may be 200 prelim spots in the scramble but there are 2000 DESPERATE doctors clamoring for them. Its a $h-t show. Its amazing to watch the most intelligent highly educated and potentially highly paid professionals get reduced to a rabid pack of insane animals for a 48 hr period of pure hell on earth. It IS apocalypse.

but for scramble, its all about connections. its filthy how it works but i have a few connections having done rotations here and with family as doctors. besides it helps that i use deodorant, main goal is to bang as many chicks as possible and have a charm of the leprechaun on a box of lucky charms
