i would go with cerebral angiography as this is acute onsetand with known embolic risk factor so thrombolytic therapy can be tried, otherwise MRI is best test for ischemic infarcts

The ans is I.CT scan is best in the acute stage as an MRI may miss early haemorrhages.

hello! this is an embolic stroke not a hemmorahgic one and CAT shows ichaemic strokes very late not in acute situations, any opinions

I think the role of CT scan here is to rule out hemorrhagic infarct in the brain which is necessary to start thrombolytic therapy in case of embolic stroke..

The first preference is to decide for certain the type of stroke to decide further therapy.In acute situations,a CT is quicker than an MRI and will help r/o a haemorrhage which helps us decide in favour of fibrinolytic therapy.
