Need help in hemolytic jaundice type? - krish07
#1
why there is absent of urine bilirubin in the Hemolytic jaundice type, but the urine urobilinogen is increased?

i was under the impression that urobilinogen readily oxidizes to urobilin.

God, all the 3 types of jaundice is now confusing.
Can anybody explain?
Thank u in advance.

- Absent of urine bilirubin in hemolytic jaundice : unconjugated Bilirubine (UCB) has to bind to albumin in blood, albumin not cross kidney.

- Urine Urobilinogen increased : increased UCB ----> liver do increase in conjuagated Bilirubin (CB, but still <20% in hemolysis) -------> increased urobilinogen in bowel via bile ---> increased reuptake via bowel-liver cycle ------> increased urobilirnogen in urine.
