A patient is put on Warfarin for coagulopathy.Later his physician discovers that the patient is hypothyroid also.He put the patient on L-thyroxin also. What extra step should be taken by the physician to avoid complications :
1:Should reduce the dose of warfarin
2:Should increase the dose of warfarin
3:Should add Aspirin to the drug regimen
4:Should do nothing at all

excuse me
Should be 111 because Thyroid hormones increase the catabolism of the clotting factors dependent on vitamin K. The hypoprothrombinemic response to oral anticoagulants may be enhanced. No significant effects are expected when warfarin is added to a patient stabilized on thyroid replacement.

Yes Veroko and Proteus are right:
Thyroxin has no significant effect on the warfarin metabolism but it enhances the Catabolism of clotting factors :
In the presence of Thyroxin the warfarin dose has to be reduced.
