Hi
I am interested in getting a psychiatry residency.I am looking for a H-1.Can you tell me what sorts of scores are required.People rarely seem to reply to queries regarding psychiatry. So i felt that you might be my best bet.I am sure that if you start off a discussion, people will follow, and ultimately, it might help me.Please do reply even if you are not too sure

Youre right! I am not sure!! lol
My mum is a Psychiatrist (in india) and so are many of her firends... she tells me that her friends say the field is pretty wide open...but this is a statemnt made by a psychiatrist aunt of mine 5 years ago., To tell you the truth , i dont know what the scence is these days. I believe its harder than IM but easier than radiology etc...... I wish I could give you a definite answer! Why dont you go to program's websites and try and figure out how many FMGs there are on the current rolls, in Psych and what the trend is from year to year...some places have listed where the current residents have come from..... you may get an idea frm there.
Also try NY, as its always pretty accomodating in terms of IMGs!

If you got 67% of the questions right on the simulated exam, and have done the same kind of performance in the real one, I guess you shouldnt get less than high 80s. but thats just my guess from my experience....

Please relax, and enjoy your break!
Meanwhile, prepare you Personal statement, get your LORs and Deans in hand....stuff like that, keep yourself busy, and stop worrying!! whats done is done, have confidence in yourself !
