PGY1MD can direct more than 500 simultaneous clinical clerkships in Georgia, in every field of medicine. Once accepted into the program, you will be assigned to a primary care or specialty accredited clinical clerkship, supervised by verifiable Attending Physicians. After successfully completed, you will be evaluated and that evaluation in addition to your record of attendance in that clinic/hospital will become a part of your records to present to future residency programs and states for future practice. As history has it, performing clinical clerkships in accredited U.S. programs is quite an accomplishment, and will get your foot in the door with many residency programs.
If you choose to apply to PGY1MD as a private client, the rotation rates will be $350/week, plus an additional $67/week for IMG Malpractice Insurance if you are not insured. The following documents are required for each of our clerkship or professional service candidates:
1. A completed PCHx (www.pgy1md.com/site/resources/pchx_1.asp);
2. Transcript from the medical school issuing your M.D. or equivalent degree
3. A copy of "Letter of Good Standing" from your Dean?s office (formerly the Dean?s Letter)
4. A copy of your USMLE Steps 1 and/or 2 Board Score Reports, if taken
5. A copy of your CSA and TOEFL reports, if taken
6. Verification of US citizenship / Permanent Residency or Visa status
7. A legible copy of your passports cover and personal information page
8. Immunization Report (Hepatitis B, MMR, HiB, DTaP, Pneumococcus, IPV/OPV, Varicella)
9. Current PPD status (last 12 months); Chest X-ray report required if PPD is positive
10. Two original passport size photos
11. Clinical Clerkship ?Action Form? (if signing up for more than one rotation)
12. A completed Employment Application Form for each hospital
13. An American social security number (SSN), or work authorization number (WAN); we need to be able to see clearly the picture ID & SSN or WAN.
14. Check or money order made out to the GME office of the hospital (Covering orientation, background check, parking voucher, badge and administrative costs)
15. The parking and badge fees are refundable upon return of those permits at the end of your rotation
16. Proof of Liability Insurance
Keep in mind that clerkships are assigned on a first approved, first served basis. A background check may also be required for certain clerkship locations, and the acceptance process may take at least 14 days. Payments are due 2 weeks in advance of your start date. We therefore recommend that you plan to enroll at least 3 months ahead of your desired clerkship start date.
All the best.
