advice for someone with low scores -
#1
Kiran

Hi Everyone,
I have low scores (76/76), US Citizen, and have no USCE. I am ECFMG certified. Does anyone have any advice as to what I should do between now and applying for next year? What specialties should I go for and does anyone know any hospitals that have accepted those with low scores like these? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Try to get some good LORs and perhaps an observership
in the mean time. As far as what programs you have to decide what specialty you like and what you want to pursue.
BEGGARS ARE NOT CHOOSERS.Go for what you really want
PD respect that alot more than taking whatever they give you.
Don't get me wrong you must be realistic if you want dermatology or ophtalmology you're probably out of luck.
Choose among the less competitive residencies the one you like the best and give it all that you have and you'll get in somewhere.
