Hi everybody...i am relatively new to this forum....have some basic qs...what r these prelim n categorical?different kinds of programs???also,from when do we need to start applyingfor 2005 residency?eras says its open from july 15.n whats a safe no of programs to apply??also,like u ppl were mentioning california letter...is there any such req in phily n NY too?...plz lemme know...thank u in advance!

welcome to forum,,prelim..is just for one yr,,after that u,ll have to switch to some other field,,categorical is for 3 yrs..except california u don,t need any type of letter to apply in other states,,safe no.of programmes depend on ur scores ,,then selection of ur programmes,,,so no specific no.for programmes to apply,,u just foolow eras ,,as it is saying just go with it,,,

thank u very much!'ll finish my CS in sep 1st wk..is that an ok time to start applying??also,i would need a h1...when do i need to take step 3 to improve my chances of getting into a program.thanks!
