Does anybody have any idea which month is the best month to take a vacation during PGY-1?

You have to check with your program, sometimes they dont allow you to take a month at a go, instead require you to take it as 2 biweekly slots.

I dont know spikey, its a matter of personal preference. Maybe you want to travel abroad so better to plan during the low season,(winter- spring , december though have xmas hols. Most of the staff members want holidays then.) get cheaper airline tickets. Or you have a religious holiday where you can meet with members of the family.
