hey all,

wanted to know if the released explanations from kaplan step 3 questions are out of date? Are the new cd questions different from the list of released answers from kaplan. What do u guys think?

Yeah, the kaplan explained answers are for pre2008 (before audio video q's).
So they're only good with 2007 and earlier q's.

i wanted to read the explanations for questions along with usmle qs, but the very first question is different and not found in kaplan released explanations. Does anyone know where we can either get the old 2007 step 3 usmle released qs or the new kaplan 2008 explanations?

if you are interested in the old 2007 released questions, which appears to be different from the current one (explanations are still available in the KplanWebsite), put your email addy here. I will email it to the 1st 20 people. For the rest, kindly get it from the 1st 20 people.

for the 2008 released questions, Kplan has not posted explanations for these. although when doing these questions and checking your answers with the provided answer key, it would be worthwhile to look up why that was the answer and why the other choices were wrong...this would provide more retention.

If you want the QUESTIONS THAT CORRELATE WITH KAPLAN'S EXPLANATIONS, find ANY Pre-2008 USMLE CD that they sent you when you were taking Step 1, Step 2CK or Step 2 CS. You can download the Step 3 version from those.

md999 gave a better solution that is less time-consuming for me...if you took any exam in 2007 (such as those enumerated above), you can get the step 3 questions from it. i take back my offer.
