If I apply for anesthesiology, I will need a prelim year.
Do I have to apply separately in ERAS for that prelim year or if I match for anesthesia I will be put automatically in their prelim rotations?

hi drmdaz....I 'm from South America.....and I am very confused...do we need to apply for the specialty AND for the prelim year?
Some programs inform that "the matched applicant will automatically be in the prelim position at our Hospital ",,or something like that..... FINE......so I assume I dont need to apply for a prelim there. BUT........other programs have no info at all....and they require prelim...so should I apply for a prelim and then write down my PGY-2 desired position?
This is so confusing.
NOw.......this is even more confusing...one program in myeras has the 2 options....PRELIM and then CAT for the specialty that requires prelim....GOSH !.... why would they have tose 2 options for the same specialty !??
HELLLLLLLPPP !
