let me know if someone understand this. why is there so many more IM 1st year residency posts this year compared to PGY 2 or 3 numbers. I saw it so many times on freida website

U seem still do not understand. U r stupiderrr than u thoughSmile

Most residents are categorical. That means once u get in, u will hold the position for 3 or more years. Only if u leave b4 finish residency, or if preliminary PGY1 can not/does not want to stay for PGY2/3, can open a PGY2/3 position.
