Is there any value of ECFMG certification if not matched in residency? Is residency the only place in USA where ECFMG certification can be weighted?

Definitly in Research. It proves your background as a physician and it is always an extra thing to put on your resume. I feel it is the same as having a short course in economics from USA that gives u an edge over some econimics specialist from India or some other foreign country for a job. Any stamp from USA is better than nothing. It sure does help in finding compromised jobs in medical profession in USA like medical assistant, research assistant etc.
