This is not for recent USMLE takers. It is for someone who is already certified by ECFMG i.e who has taken step 1 and step 2 before 1999 and got certified, these guys if they haven't registered for Step 3 yet, they can register until June 30 th 2005 without taking Step2 CS.But after June 30, they are also required to pass step 2 CS before appearng for Step 3..I know 2 of my friends who are in the same boat and they have to take Step 3 before June 30, otherwise they will have to appear for CS first, pass it, then go for Step 3.
