I need to change from H1 to J1 for residency. If I go for Match, how long it takes for J1 processing? How long for adjustment of status? Is time enough? What?s the precise procedure for J1?

I want to go from F-1 to J-1 and people have been telling me it will take too long and to go back to India....but I would rather stay here and do it, i.e. Adjustment of status.....let me know if that is possible....all I hear is that it takes like over six months and people do lose positions waiting for it...please let me know......I'm totally undecieded!!! thanks!

that's my fear too...the program director doesn't seem too keen on waiting for people who are trying to get thier J-1....and you know tonnes of people will jump the program as soon as they know we can't join....so are you going to your homecountry???? and where is that if I may ask?
