Lots of univ based programs do this.... but remember that u ARE assessed by the residents, a friend of mine who is a chied resident told me that the residents evaluate you and report to the chief resident who then makes comments in the selection meeting abt the feedback from the residents.

but again it also varies from program to program,the dinner if for a purpose... think abt it, why would they spend money on you otherwise??
