High altitude confusion - diamondindarufny

a question about the dissociation curve

when there is a high altitude state we have a right shift of the curve. sooo

is the person in Respiratory alkalosis and compensation becomes dumping bicarb?

or is high altitude a respiratory acidosis state?

high altitude.....low po2.....activate peripheral chemo recptr....hyperventilation.....low paco2....respi alkalosis....compensatory met acidosis
