I was wondering if anyone has any good information on how to remember the virulence factors for the various bacteria and viruses. Such as Pili vs hemaaggluttin etc.... any help would be great

if u have a palm, or a pocket PC, or anything that u can upload the kaplan lectures to, and keep hearing them on the bus, on the train, while walking, preparing dinner, is the best thing to do regarding micro and pharma... i'm doing that now, and it's really so beneficial...

yo whats up, the best way is to make index cards try flashcardexchange.com just go over it couple of times, it needs to become natural, its memorization, so the brain needs to act on this type of information through various periods of sensitization, for example study it today in a week in two weeks etc. Also remember that the brain works through connections only, whatever connection you can make between two things no matter how farfetched it may sound, the brain assimilates it better. For example Chlamydia Tracomatis causes STD with serotype DK, you can imagine that with a father holding his son seeing the tracoma and saying Daaaam Kiiidd (DK), thas just an example. Or for example botulinum toxin starts with B so its exotoxin is A-B. And there are a couple of mnemonics all around for example of prophage bacterias OBED (O antigen salmonella, botulism, ertythrog strep, diphteriae)
