OCPs protect against ovarian cancer while HRT increases risk ...
Wats the effect on Breast cancer by OCPs....HRT inreases it does OCP Increase it too ?

good q ----OCP's role in breast ca not clear. Its said that theres no risk in spome studies but increased risk in some. HRT absolutely increases a risk.

note that OCP are a supplement to endogenous estrogen, by causing -ve feedback reduces endogenous estrogen. HRT is something like an additional estrogen given in menopausal pt who is not supposed to have estrogen. ER+ve breast cancers will then become aggressive. So, years exposed to estrogen becomes greater when HRT is used and hence an icreased risk of breast ca.

OCPs reduce risk of ovarian ca by inducing anovulation. HRT on other hand acts during menopause so, acts on some epithelial ovarian ca with estrogen receptos and increase the risk
