what side of the heart is the pulmonary wedge capillary pressure measuring? The first aid says left atrium and goljan says left ventricle. Okay coolio some one hit me up with there wise knowledge of medicine, thanks.

its left atrial pressure. catheter is introduced into smallest branches of pulmonary artery, the measured pulmonary capillary pressure is approx equal to left atrial pressure.

Both left A and Left V ... these rooms are ALL open on each others so PCWP represents pressure in LA and in LV charcot hope that he/she helped you

ok so are you super sure charcot? where did you get this info? I always thought it was measuring the LVEDV (left vent end diastolic press). thats two big pressure changes for it to be both...you know what i mean?

my friend, in diastole, all rooms are opened ... right ? so go figure !

and yes, charcot is super duper sure that in diastole these pressures (PCWP, LA,LV) (end of diastole to be more precise, are all the same
