how to ask about recreational drug use?
like for cocaine -pt can either inhale or take IV, right?
what about marijuana, do they inhale it?
have no idea, pl give some input

and if the pt gives positive history what should we ask then/

Q. "Do you use or have you ever used any illicit / recreational drug like cocaine, heroin or marujuana?"

A. "Yes doc, I use cocaine"

MUST ASK THIS FOLLOW UP Q !!!

Q2. "when was the last time you used Cocaine?" or "Have you used cocaine in last 24 hrs?"

reason: In CP pts, we must r/o cocain usage causing MI or so. Last cocain usage info goes in HPI/CC esp if its a CP pt.

Q. "Do you use or have you ever used any illicit / recreational drug like cocaine, heroin or marujuana?"

A. "Yes doc, I shoot heroin"

MUST ASK THIS FOLLOW UP Q !!!

Q. "Do you share or have you ever shared needles while shooting with your partners?"

reason: must r/in HIV, Hep B,C trasmission factors in IVDAs. use info to order both tests in Work ups.
