Residency in Pathology/Microbiology - drakmane

Hello friends,
I am Dr Abhijeet Mane from india. I have done MD (Microbiology) and wish to work in usa.
My queries are:
1. Whether I have to give usmle or GRE/TOEFL to take up residency in Pathology and Microbiology?
2. Which clinical and para clinical seats are available for residency through USMLE exams for foreign medical graduates/post graduates?

Hi Abhijeet,

You dont need GRE/Toefl to get into a pathology/Microbiology residency, but you have to pass USMLE. One other option you have is to get a postdoctoral fellowship in pathology department to perform research. Other clinical fields you can try provided you get a good score in USMLE are Internal medicine, family medicine, psychiatry, OB/Gyn, Anesthesia(comptetitive), General surgery, Pathology, Molecular medicne, Rehab medicine etc. But you
should read the archives in this forum there is a lot of information already written about many topics.
