hi
I think you should stick to one field, which is psych. Now if you go for FP, then need to explain with some reasoning in cv or iv. My advise is that continue or find out psych externship/observership and delay your exams until September as any discontinuation in exp will not be good. Your step 3 if you take in September or October, result will be out by November and will make your cv more positive. If you got one iv last yr you can improve your cv by either more us clinical exp or step 3.
The key to success is
-work for one field
-continue USCE even if you don't match.
-Make good cv explaining in detail what you have done but emphasizing more toward your field of interest like if you worked for FP, during this exp you managed psychiatric pts too, which I did during my practice I don't know about you if you did then put.
Also if you worked long for some other field in past and now you changed your mind due to some strong reason then after that your USCE must be in field of your choice.
-Make good PS with strong reason that why you want this field and why you changed your mind.
-If your worked for some other field for example you worked one yr in psych and now if you go for FP, explain it why you did it in cv.
