Please let me know which one you think is a better prep for Step 3, usmleworld or kaplan qbank

I have done them both.

Kaplan: Good questions. Appear to be high yield and directly relevant to Step 3. Explanations are good. Interface is not 100% FRED 2 (but very close). Ability to take notes while answering questions. Good pictures. Includes multimedia questions.

UW: Good questions, however some appear to be very picky and not very relevant. Some question are also very 'reaching', which can be frustrating. By reaching, I mean atypical presentations. The explanations are excellent. However, out of over a thousand questions, there are maybe 2-3 pictures. No multimedia. And most annoying, is that they are extremely paranoid about copyright infringement. Therefore, when you run through questions, you cannot change to any other application, including something like MS Word to take notes on your deficiencies. However, the interface is spot on.

My recommendation is to do them both.

I also like USMLE consult. It is very rich with high-yield pictures. Answers to questions also include exerpts out of recognized texts. AKA they offer direct references within the explanations. But the website and interface have been problematic lately. I've been at them over the past week to fix the errors.
