surgery question - dmaha

63 yr old man severe pain in both legs on walking more than a block for 6mth. relieved by rest. no rest pain. h/o DM, HTN, hypercholes., heavy smoker. on exam. some here loss, brittle nails both legs. femoral popliteal pulses weak bilaterally. distal leg pulses absent bilat.
Next step in management?

a. angiogram to determine extent of disease
b. surgical revascularization
c. aspirin and exercise program
d. sympathectomy
e. angioplasty


plz give explaination with ur answer.

answer is cc in this case..but if there was an option of ankle brachial pressure indes i wud hav gone with that..

aspirin is not given in kaplan tho
is there any other book for surgery beside kaplan
