The aim of the therapy is control the 1.RATE and for that you can use CCB,BB ..but most commonly they use Verapamil..If you have concomitant CHF than you give Digoxin..
As you know AFib can caus emebolic stroke ,so we would like to naticoagulate with Warfarin(Coumidin)..

We focus on the RATE Control beacsue the rhytam control is hard to control,so defib is usless ...Again maintance with rate control +anticoagulation,especialy if you have mitral stenosis or regurg..

Well I kknow that of you have CHADS and A-Fib ,you will not give Warfaring,but you will treat the rate control..
