I was looking at options available for choosing the programs
IMG prep ,Residentcafe?
Is it worth buying these and then applying?
if yes ..Can anybody suggest which is the better one?
greatly appreciate your suggestions

I think searching the list yourself is the best option. I took the list last year but it didn't help me. But in case if you have to take the list try matcharesident.com

these services are only good to stratify programs according to visa requirements,

good tip: look @ the current residents pix, if all are AMGs, it's not worth applying

well, u neeed to make your own list, email coordinator/ call ask about requirements and then only appply. if u rely on commercial list u may looose money

How to select programs to apply to


........ Some of things you should look at when applying to a program to make sure you meet their guidelines include:-
- Are you an AMG
- IMG non US citizen
- IMG US citizen or permanent resident
- More than 2-3 years out of medical school
- US clinical experience
- Multiple attempts in the USMLE
- Scores less than 80 or as specified by the program
- Have you passed step 3 yet
- University program or community based program depending on your credentials

It is better to be an informed applicant rather than using the shot gun approach and spray your pellets, hoping that one might hit the target. It is very important that you find out what the programs requirements are before applying.......
