When its more than 5 years after graduation, multiple attempts, etc it becomes a challenge to match into a program. It™s not impossible, but it requires extraordinary effort on your side and a lot of luck and planning.
Some strategies you could consider include:- -Getting US clinical experience if you don™t have it yet, through an observership -If you have, continue to network with the contacts you made -Take step 3 if you are positive you are ready for it -Get solid LOR from US doctors -If you don™t know any doctors talk to your family and friends, they must have primary care physicians who they can introduce you to and open up a conversation -Talk to colleagues that are already here, you never know who can put in a word or too. The competition is just too much, but don™t give up. Good luck www.scramblemd.com
