About residency in Miami..chances???? - silviab

Hi

I'm FMG who have already pased Stp 1 ,2 and CS (90,84,pass). I live in miami and I'd like to stay and get a position here.
I'd love to get into a platic surgery or general surgery residencies..
I have green card.
At the moment I'm preparing step3
Anyone got a position in Miami???How do you think would be my chance of that??/

Instead of preparing for step 3, maybe you should call up a couple of hospitals in Miami and see if you can do an observership or externship. You have a green card and therefore don't need step 3 for H1-B. Your time would be best spent networking.

I am working on the chance of getting an observership or externship in nearest hospitals but believe me that it's a bit hard to find information to do that...but I keep trying...
Besides the legal aspect, I was told that pass the step3 before getting a residency is good to increase the choice to get a good position (special residency and location)
As I'm FMG won't be dificult to pass it before doing the residency
