thanks a lot psych for the explanation, still have some doubt about this Q, as decrease heart rate may play a role of beta blocker by decreasing OXygen demand ( heart rate), ( so still think that Thrombolytics as the first choice would be better than atropine).

I have questions for u ..
A pt with bleeding esophageal varices and BP 80/50 ..
A pt with abdominal blunt trauma with BP 80 and abdominal rigdity ..
A pt wiwth PE and BP of 80 ..
etc .. what is the next step?

Stabilize the pt first, BB will decrease the rate, atropine will increase it .. u right ..

but increasing the heart rate will increase the output and save the pt alive .. wt will u do with a dead pt with limited infarct area Big Grin ..
