how to ask SP to remove his/her gown - imgjar

Hi everybody, please anybody can tell me if ask to the SP to remove his/her gown by himself is correct. I mean, could you ask the following:

- Please could you take off your gown, I need to check your lungs.

the gowns open in the back..ask them:

may I lower your gown so that i can listen your lungs? then auscultate, then you tie it back..

SPs dont lower their gown for you, you do it and tie it back..

They don't know what you want to do, so they cannot help you out. You will have to ask for permission or ask them if you can do some stuff.
