why there is increase risk for duodenal ulcer in cirrhosis,COPD,fenal failure and hyperparathyroidism

for hyperparathyroidism it's because hypercalcemia,
i dont know for the others

with hyperparathyroidism, it could be a part of the MEN 1 syndrome:
hyperparathyroidism + pituitary adenoma + pancreatic tumor (ZE syndrome w inc in gastric acid, thus DU)

cirrhosis and renal failure.. not sure about these..i suppose it may have something to do with protein deficiency and the decreased capacity to make hormones such as those secreted into the duodenum to neutralize the acidity... but that may be a far shot. ..so not sure.

COPD..hmm ..clueless on this.

stress in general perhaps due to chronic illness may take part in causing a stress ulcer.
