When applying on ERAS, how does it work for visa?

Do you request visa type for each program you apply to (ie. I want to apply for H1b)?

Can you ask for H1b, and if they don't sponsor that one, then J1?

u don't request visa type for each program. just say yes under visa sponsorship needed in d eras application. then when u want to apply to programs, u have to find out by urself, which of d programs sponsor only H1b, which ones only J1, which ones sponsor both and which ones sponsor neither. check freida for d visa sponsored by each program. u can also get information about visa on d respective website of each program. i hope that helps.

So on ERAS you just say you need a generic visa?

When does the program find out specifically what visa you want? at interview stage then? Is that when they tell you that they sponsor H1 or J1?
