help regarding form 186 - drvivek1

I sent my form 186 to my med school.ECFMG sent me email say it rejected.

This is what was written in the attachment in email from ecfmg :

The stamp or seal of the official in Part B of your “Form 186 - Certification of Identification
Form” is not acceptable.
The stamp or seal of each of the officials who certified your Certification of Identification
Form (Form 186) Part A and Part B is required. For Part B, the stamp or seal must be
affixed in the designated area in the lower right hand portion of the Form 186.



WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
Is it the officials sig that does not match the one that ecfmg has?
Is the seal not in the right place?
Is his designation not the one ecfmg wants? (dean? principal?)


This is roughly how part B is(unfilled)

which place prob is ECFMG talking abt?
the place marked x is where the MEDICAL SCHOOL SEAL SHOULD BE rt?
SO it means the place where OFFICIAL TITLE is that is the problem?

My guess..

It appears that the official (dean or principla) who signed your document is not listed in ECFMG list of offecial from your medical scholl. Similar thing happened with my 186 - dean went on long leave; the acting dean who sigend my form was not in ECFMG list;

The remedy: the med school should give it in writing to ECFMG that who ever signed your form is the authorised official of the school.
Steps to take:
Cal ECFMG
Talk to a rep about it. - (make sure that above is your issue)
He or she will help send the 'ECFMG required form' to your school
Upon receivng 'ECFMG required form' your school send it back to ECFMG after duly completing it.
Once ECFMG receives this form from school your 186 will be accepted.

okay thx so much. will try that! so many people on here with form 186 problem. i saw one post with it rejected 7 times!
