UW case 1: pregnancy with UTI
Office @11.00. Order pregnancy test and U/A and culture,sensitivity routine: report time shows 17.00 same day. We are not to order STAT tests in office with stable vitals (thats what I understand from this forum). Patient has dysuria and suprapubic discomfort. Can we send her home and bring back home in 1 day doing nothing, or just make her wait at office all day until 5 PM when the results become available??? Oh, this sucks!!!!!! Anyone can help????????????? Thanks/

u dont make her wait in the office.
u do ur usual Pe, labs, u order urine preg test in the office and even urine dipstick in office---- treat empirically based on ur results and reschedule another appoint in 3 days to recheck the pt and ua again.

this is the only the basic not detail approach of this case, i am just answering ur concern,

YOU SHOULD START TREATING BASED ON SYMPTOMS AND URINE DIPSTICK POSITIVITY FOR NITRITE OR LEUKO-ESTERASE.
sHOULD NOT WAIT FOR COMPLETE U/A or cultures to come back.

I told you guys there is no Urine dipstick on Primum sofware only UA.
