[you will have a diffcult justification for applying to IM with your expertise in OB, you should make use of your experience. the best programs that you can apply to and make full use of your CV will be in Ob-gyn OR family medicine. since you have worked in Obgyn and have experience in FM, cards and peds, you will be a relatively well rounded applicant for FM barring your scores and YOG. So I think unless you really want to do IM or peds and are prepared to take the jump from one background to other, the best chances for you are in FM >> Obgyn >>>IM or peds]

Hi mleresidencytips
I applied to obgyn last year 85 programs.

So i am frustrated and planning to jump to peds or IM.
Still i should apply to obgyn?
Not much interested in FM
What should i do now?

I would urge you to also try FM and Peds. In my experience, what is seen is people with specialty experience such as yourself get very few IM interviews. Again it would depend on how you project yourself. Since the seats in Obgyn are very few, I would suggest you go for IM also. But ensure that you dont apply to all three in the same place.

Dear residency_match,
I am an old graduate with 10 yrs experience in OBGYN,my step1score 219 and still don't have the result of step2 ck and cs.
Do you think my previous specialty and experience helps me in match?
