applying on a j2 visa... - tie

guys... I have a question...I am on a j2 visa...my husband just joined a j1 residency program...and I was wondering if I should mention I do need a visa or is it better if I go ahead and say I do not need one...would that create any problems in the future...btw...my EAD is pending...

when you say you dont need a visa you ll be asked about your status so you can choose j2

but how are my chances when I do residency on a j2 visa...would i have any problems when I try and renew it every year...if USCIS find out I am doing residency on EAD

you cant change the fact anyway but i am not sure if you can change it to j1 as on j2 you will be attatched to the j1 holder so u can try to have your j1 if this is not possible nothing else can be done as j2 to H1 is impossible

Hi Tie, I am in your boat exactly, I applied for 2012 residency and I choose J2 visa on my ERAS application. You have to mention that you are on a visa!!!
