DNA poly III--makes new DNA strand in the direction of 5' ---> 3'. This is a fast working enzyme and sometimes leaves gaps while synthesizing new strand. This enzyme also has has 3'-->5' exonuclease activity, which means it can break down each nucleotide one by one from the 3' end if it has to such as in repair.
DNA poly II - same function as DNA poly III but is slower than DNA Poly II and is mainly used in DNA repair. The gaps left by the DNA poly III is filled in by this enzyme. DNA poly I- This one removes the RNA primers used in the lagging strand. It removes the primer via the 5'--->3' exonuclease activity. I suggest looking at animations on youtube to visualize this stuff.
