Interview Slot - sam_resimatch

Hello,
I have an interview (IV) from a Brooklyn Peds - program w/ 3 Slots in January.
I have scheduled my step 3 exam in Dec end. So as per my experience step 3 result expected to come on mid Jan.
So my options are-
1. Go to iv w/ earlier slot telling them I am waiting for step3 result. here my iv will be early but w/o s3 score
2. Go to iv later w/ s3 score (IF Pass) it can make me stronger candidate. but I heard later slots are may be for formality just for back up candidates so they may not consider me seriously
which slot i should select

i doubt any interviews are done for formality, but i guess the sooner the better. depends upon u.
