Aspirin toxicity causes Respiratory alkalosis(first) and Matabolic acidosis(later).

soon after intoxication aspirin affects on the medulary center and causes hyperventilation....it leads to the Respiratory alkalosis
Then organic acids accummulates(onion Gaps) and causes Metabolic acidosis....so we should looking for something between these two ,but metabolic acidosis is peredominant
low Ph........PaCO2...less than 35......Bicarbonate.less than 23

ASPIRIN-
High dose--- respiratory alkalosis--because of mild uncouling of Oxidative Poshorylation

toxic dose-- 150mg/kg-- around 10 GM/ 30 tablets... IN ADULT/ 2 TO 3 GM IN CHILD-- respiratory acidosis and metabolic acidosis because of respiratory centere inhibition and severe uncoupling of Oxi. Phosporylation.
