Scramble question - atpeace

Can you scramble into a program even though you haven't interviewed or even applied to that program? Any links or information on this? It's not clear to me on NRMP, thanks

I think you can do the both you mentioned. If unfortunately didn't match and need t o Scramble, then try it, it's such heaps and heaps of great fun!

yeah..I guess the mind is wandering :-0, I just don't get this process...we got through this whole process where we get rejected or get interviews..only to be thrown back into this again when programs can't fill their positions because they don't choose us in the begining!

During scramble the program will elect the ones who they have interviewed and have not matched yet. For other candidates, good contact can only get you through scramble

I think programs take candidates who were not interviewd before. If they didnt rank some one in their main match why they would take them in post mtch.

you dont need to interview at a program to be eligible for scramble there. You are open to any of the programs as long as you are scrambled in! make sure you apply to atleast 1 program to be eligible for the unmatched programs list from NRMP.

Thanks for the responses, mleresidencytips, so are you saying that if I can't rank that many programs since I've only interviewed at 2, I can still scramble into programs that i've never interviewed at? Thanks in advance
