I got an reply from resident who took us for the tour around the hospital. He mentioned me to be a strong candidate for the program. Does this mean the PD talked to him about me?

may or may not be... as far as I am told, resident can put his/her input about candidates but are not informed about the selection.. this is my opinion.. good luck
