Fellowship and H1 - alexandra

I see how many of us are trying to choose a hospital with a better possibility research, thus fellowship. But as far as I understand it is almost impossible to obtain a fellowship on H1 and many residents are looking for jobs after 3 year residency....so why does it matter where we are doing our residencies?

Those who need H1 can still do fellowship (though not very easy) after residency..........and many may pursue it after they are issued a GC as well.
