Great discussion guys !

Its not clear what the point of infection of HIV is, in this case. Could be a year old, 5 yrs old or more. 1 months is the onset of presenting symptoms.

1. PPD negative and presence of night sweats indicate that this patient is not just HIV+ but most likely in the AIDS phase of the infection. (either coz of fungal or mycobacterial infection). And hence, higher replication...

2. HIV acute symptoms are usually more generalized and flu-like, compared to a specific "night sweats" presentation.

Im sure night sweats CAN occur in HIV+ pts. (without Myco./fungal infections) as well, but I have reserved that presentation for a the most common associated diseases.

Nonetheless, interesting discussion.
