can someone tell me how the chief resident can help one in getting into residency. is chief able to do so and how? thanks alot

In some few programs the chief resident(s) also interview people and as such, they may participate on the final selection, although their opinion is probably not be as valued as the rest of the interviewers. In most programs however, their participation is minimal if any at all.

Did any one get prematch from RUMC. Because their quotes on NRMP has been reduces to 12 from 17.I was told they do not offer prematch.Thanks in anticipation

in some programs the chief resident has a fair amount of weight and functions at a faculty level at other programs he does not have that responsibilities outside of scheduling and taking care of residents. it depends on the program
